Frequently Asked Questions
Online translation services (Gemini/ChatGPT) require a personal API key from the service provider. You can obtain these from the Google AI Studio or OpenAI Platform websites. For a detailed guide, please visit our API Key Guide.
Offline translation runs directly on your device using Apple's built-in framework (on iOS 18+) or on-device AI models. It's great for privacy and use without an internet connection. However, the translation quality may be slightly lower than online services like Gemini/ChatGPT, and it only supports a specific set of languages provided by Apple.
No. Your privacy is our priority. All your data, including conversation history, image analysis records, and API keys, is stored securely only on your device using Apple's built-in security features. We do not have access to your content.
The background service is available only in Lecture Mode and must be explicitly enabled by you. When active, it allows the app to continue using the microphone for translation even if the screen is locked or you switch to another app. Please be aware this means the microphone will remain active. You can disable this feature at any time.
